Primary Care

This concept is based on comprehensive studies which showed that careful reconstruction of the musculature of the lip, nose, mid-face and palate is crucially important for subsequent normal growth of the face. Our operative procedure integrates scientific knowledge with many years of successful treatment of these malformations, which provides these children with the possibility for leading a normal life.

Unilateral cleft lip

Interdisciplinary concept for cleft lip and palate at the Craniofacial Center Münster

For successful treatment, cleft lip and palate malformations require management by an interdisciplinary treatment team that has an established joint treatment concept. The team, consisting of an oro-maxillofacial surgeon and specialists in ENT with pediatric audiology, orthodontics, pediatrics, speech therapy and dentistry, determines the individual treatment for each patient in interdisciplinary consultations.
